The world comes to Victoria with Tango Festival 2010, returning for its third season August 6 – 8, 2010. Building on the success of previous years, the Festival is quickly emerging with the reputation as an exciting opportunity for artists to showcase traditional forms, and experiment with new ideas. Unlike most other Tango festivals in North America – that focus almost exclusively on the dance side of Tango, with very little live music - The Victoria Tango Festival embraces the musical artistry inherent in Tango music, and combines it with showcases of the sensual dance form. Thus, it provides a rare venue in which the full extent of the Tango genre – in all of its raw, passionate, unrepeatable momentum – can be experienced by the audience and performers alike.
