Join us on this truly memorable trip as we visit beautiful Japan and explore its fascinating culture, history, cuisine, and love of the tango.
You will be accompanied throughout by your brilliant tango-sensei Raquel Greenberg who has been teaching the tango all over the world for more than 20 years.
Travelling in November, which is a delightful time for the autumn leaves, we will spend our first 4 nights in buzzing Tokyo where the ancient and modern worlds collide. Visit the Imperial Palace (home to Japan’s Emperor), serene Meiji Shrine and Asakusa for a feel of old Tokyo. By night, you’ll sample delicious dinners and visit some milongas as well as enjoying tango classes.
We’ll then board the superb Bullet train and enjoy a full day tour of beautiful Mt Fuji and the lovely surrounding region of Hakone. We’ll then head to Osaka for 6 nights and use this as a convenient base to explore nearby Kyoto (for the cultural highlights of Japan), Nara (the first capital) as well as visiting the moving city of Hiroshima and the nearby lovely island of Miyajima.
Along the way, you’ll join more milongas and partake in further tango classes.
